This custom hardwood post and beam home has one-of-a-kind elements
throughout. Hand-dipped cedar shingle siding, salvaged six-panel hardwood
interior doors and a hand made 1910 all-cedar front door, imported
from Italy, lend the home an elegance from past. The open floor plan
is flooded with natural light from 52 all-wood windows. Cherry and
black walnut character filled floors and cherry cabinetry give the
interior warmth and suggest elements of the forest that surrounds
the hilltop custom built home. State-of-the-art heating systems (including an exterior
wood fired furnace), stress skin panels, and a cold roof, provide
low cost comfort. |

The ubiquitous New England Colonial gets an uncommon treatment with
this tidy but spacious custom built home. A steep 12 pitched roof, generous overhangs
with returns, 5/4 by 12” corner and frieze boards, and clapboard siding
are true to the Colonial style, while an open, light filled, and modern
floor plan easily accommodates today’s lifestyles. Character has returned
to the New England Colonial. |

This turn-of the-century farmhouse and barn were destroyed by fire.
Clark Craftsman Homes redesigned and rebuilt the home and barn while
reinforcing the existing stone foundation. A steep 12 pitch roof,
salvaged front door awning and cedar clapboards pay homage to the
original structure. Carriage house garage doors compliment the horse
pastures while granite landings lead to a sunken patio surrounded
by white picket fencing set atop existing stone walls. |
